What happened to the Freshers' wristbands?
This year we are offering the Platinum and Platinum Extra pass, which replaces the Freshers wristbands and gives you a lot more throughout the year. You will get a Platinum Pass wristband for Freshers' week.
How do I receive my Platinum Pass wristband?
We will send you a paper ticket (or one will be waiting for your collection) which you can exchange for an actual wristband at The SU Bar at Frenchay. We cannot issue the wristband without placing it on your wrist so you cannot send someone on your behalf to collect the wristband. You can't gain entry to events using your Wristband paper ticket, you must exchange this for a wristband to gain entry.
Can I upgrade my Platinum pass to Platinum Extra?
Afraid not. Platinum passes are in limited supply.
How do I get my tickets and passes?
If you are a UK resident, we will send them in the post to your home address (we will not send them to your campus accommodation). If you reside outside the UK, we will hold your ticket for collection at The SU Bar at Frenchay. Towards the end of August, we will stop sending tickets to UK residents and instead they will be available for collection. Please bring ID and proof of purchasing (sent via email) with you when collecting tickets, if we cannot verify your identify we will not hand over tickets.
How long is my ticket valid for on the night?
Your ticket is valid for two hours from the start time of the event (this is stated on your ticket). After this we hold the right to re-sale your ticket to those wishing to come in and pay on the door. We will still let you in with your ticket if you arrive after this time but you may have to queue on a one-in-one-out basis for capacity reasons at the venue. Please arrive on time to avoid disappointment.
Do I need a ticket to free events?
You do not need a ticket for free events, apart for the Welcome Party where you need to claim a free ticket.
Please arrive early as we can never guarantee entry.
Do I need to bring ID?
Yes! Please bring age ID to ALL freshers' events. Only driving licences or passports will be accepted as valid ID. We ask for ID for 100% of guests at all of our venue doors, no exceptions.
I am under 18. Can I attend Freshers' events?
Unfortunately not. We have a strict 18+ policy on all night events.
Can I purchase a ticket on arrival to UWE?
You can, but it's a risky option and you could be left very disappointed! Some events will have tickets available at the door. Please arrive at the start time and join the queue. Prices may be increased at the door.
What's the line-up?
Check out the individual events for the different line-ups.
What about other (non-official) Freshers' events?
Look out for any Freshers' events which are trying to look official. They might exist, but they're not the events which all the new students will be going to! The official Freshers' Week is run by The Students Union at UWE, which is a non-profit organisation. We ensure value for money is delivered at every Freshers' event - not just another clubnight!
I'm not at UWE, can I come?
Tickets will only be available to buy by UWE students, so you can come as long your friend who's coming to UWE buys the ticket.
Want to bring a friend to an event?
Not a problem, you can bring along up to 4 guests for any UWE Freshers event. If the event is ticketed, you will need to purchase the ticket on their behalf.
Where can I park my car during Freshers' events?
You can park in Car Park 2 and 3 for free during Freshers' night events on Frenchay Campus. There is plenty of secure parking areas in the centre of Bristol. Please do not drink and drive.
What happens if I don't get into UWE?
You can apply for a refund if you do not get a place at UWE. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will process your refund
I don't want the ticket any more, can I get a refund?
Afraid not. We do not refund any tickets apart from if you are no longer coming to UWE.
I have a further question. Where can I get in touch?
You can email us at email@example.com
