About Us

What is The Green Team?

The Green Team is a group of students who are striving to create sustainable change at an individual and collective level. This year, in a Covid-19 world, we will be creating activities, events and campaigns virtually and with some in-person sessions. Whether you are on or off campus, you can be part of The Green Team activities and campaigns and make a difference!

Our approach to sustainability is intersectional, as the climate emergency is tightly intertwined with inequalities of gender, race and socio-economics. Therefore climate justice = social justice.

There are many ways to get involved with The Green Team. We are currently looking for students to join our Sustainability Committee. To find out more about this visit this page. We are also working to shape our programme for the 2020/2021 academic year. Information about this will be shared on social media and this webpage at the start of term. Have an idea of something you'd like to see or a campaign you'd like to run? so, what is sustainability?

In 2015, the United Nations set out the Sustainable Development Goals. They address global challenges we collectively face, encompassing climate change, inequalities, poverty, inequality, peace and justice. The goals are interconnected and are equally relevant to both developed and developing countries. The SDGs act as a blueprint for The Students' Union, as we move together to create a better world for all.
