What do scars mean to you?

As part of Feel Good February, UWE’s Centre for Appearance Research invites you to a screening of SCARS, a film directed by Rebecca Lloyd Evans and Laura Dodsworth.

A scar is the end point of a physical wound healing. But scars are not just skin deep - emotional and psychological histories lie beneath the healed wounds. Scars can change forever how we see the world, and how the world sees us.

In this film, five completely different people tell us about how their scars have made them the people they are today.  Scars stemming from war, self harm, conditions at birth, cancer and domestic violence signpost us through a collection of stories which are both extraordinary and every day. These scars bear witness to our lived experience of love, loss, strength and overcoming the odds.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with members of the Centre for Appearance Research.
