What is the Anti-Sexual Violence Service?

UWE’s Anti-Sexual Violence Service provides a non-judgemental, inclusive, and confidential space for you to seek support if you have experienced sexual trauma of any kind, even if you don’t want to report something. It’s important to note that this is self-referral, appointment-based service, not a crisis service. We can give you unbiased information about reporting processes with the police and university so you can make the best decision for you. 

How can we help?

As UWE’S Anti-Sexual Violence Advisor (ASVA), I can support you in:

• Provide information about the criminal justice process if you're considering reporting.
• Explain the University’s policies and procedures relating to sexual misconduct and give you information about your rights if you’re thinking of reporting internally.
• Support you to make informed choices about what is right for you.
• Help you to liaise with external and internal services (e.g. academic support, accommodation, sexual health, mental health) to make appropriate referrals so that you receive as much support as you feel you need. We will never pressure you into accessing support or reporting to the Police or University.
• Provide emotional support and empowerment through psychoeducational tools.  

It’s important to note that UWE’s ASVA will give you tools and unbiased information but will not tell you what to do – that is always your choice, and you will be supported whatever you choose to do.

Travel Information
Walk: Glenside Campus is a 30 min (approx.) walk from Frenchay Campus, either via Stoke Lane or through Stoke Park Estate. Please note that these routes include steep hills. 
Bus: First Bus services 5 and 48A stop directly outside the main entrance to Glenside Campus. The 48A runs every 20 mins between Frenchay and Glenside. 
Cycle: Glenside is easily accessible from several local cycle routes. There are showers, lockers, bike shelters and free bike tools available on campus. 
Drive: Parking is available on campus for permit holders only. Please ensure you have either an annual permit OR a free ‘permission to park’ permit along with a daily parking token displayed in your windscreen.
