For the first time in the history of The Students' Union, you can join us to celebrate the achievements of students and staff in the Welfare area.
On Tuesday 17 April from 17:00 we will be holding our first ever welfare awards ceremony in the Union 1 building on Frenchay campus, guests will have the chance to network at the drinks reception. before we start the awards ceremony. Through out the evening there will be a number of awards presented as well as discussion of some of the years welfare highlights all this and an amazing buffet part way though the evening.
Our special guest for the evening will be Helen Richardson-Walsh MBE.
All nominations will be considered anonymously, in order to submit your nomination please fill in the survey at the top of the page.
Below are the awards catagories
Student volunteer of the year (non-Nightline)
A student who has volunteered and got involved in different welfare related events at The Students’ Union and UWE Bristol, and championed causes around welfare and wellbeing.
Nightline volunteer of the year
A Nightline volunteer who has gone above and beyond in volunteering for the service. They could have shown this through many different ways, from helping to promote the service, to doing behind the scenes activitiy.
UWE staff member of the year
A member of UWE staff that has shown dedication to the welfare of our students, they could be from the Wellbeing service, or a lecturer to a lab technician. Do they always ask how you are? Have they run mental health related events? Are they a really nice person? Whatever it is they have done, drop them a nomination.
SU staff member of the year
A member of SU staff that has one the extra mile in supporting work around student Welfare, whether its supporting student projects, to embedding mental health into what they do.
Team of the year
A group of people who could be from UWE, or The Students’ Union who have worked on improving students welfare at UWE.
Dedication award
Somebody who has gone above and beyond trying to improve our students’ welfare at UWE. From running campaigns, to helping a friend or colleague, somebody that always goes the extra mile.
VP Community & Welfare award
A UWE Student that has not only volunteered, but led on campaigns and work around community and welfare.
