Multicultural Week

Mon 18 Mar 2019 - Fri 22 Mar 2019

The Students' Union, Frenchay

Multicultural Week has been organised by Giang Nguyen, The Students' Union President as one of her manifesto points, aiming to help celebrate the growth of multiculturalism at UWE Bristol as well as raising awareness about cultural diversity to a wider community through a series of exciting events such as food events, UWE Bristol’s Football Tournament or UWE Bristol’s Got Talent and many more. Find out more about the events below to get involved!

Monday 18 March: Burrito Challenge

11:30 - 15:00, The Students' Union Bar, Frenchay

Burrito is a dish in Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine that consists of a flour tortilla with various other ingredients. It is wrapped into a closed-ended cylinder that can be picked up, in contrast to a taco, where the tortilla is simply folded around the fillings.

With the purpose of bringing you the flavour of Mexican food, there will be a competition for our students. Contestants will be required to eat 450 grams of Burrito (vegetarian or meat options both contain Jalapeno Chillies). This is to be consumed as quickly as possible. There will be one winner per sitting. Winners will be decided by Strathclyde University Catering Management.

You can register your name at the event but to make sure you get your preferred slot, please register here for the Challenge: https://uwe.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/burrito-challenge
