Occupational Therapy Society - The Climbing Academy: A Talk on Inclusive Climbing

Occupational Therapy Society - The Climbing Academy: A Talk on Inclusive Climbing

Tue 09 April 2019 12:05-12:50

Room 1F11, Glenside Campus

The Climbing Academy (TCA) has paired with students of UWE, UWE climbing club and Tom Stabbins (paraclimber & committee member of Bristol Thrill Seekers) to provide a small talk and Q and A session on inclusive climbing.

Climbing is an activity that is incredibly fulfilling as well as physically and mentally demanding. People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can enjoy these activities and disability needn’t be seen as a barrier to participation. Paraclimbing in the UK, and indeed across the globe, is growing and has seen great achievements recently.

TCA hopes that by demonstrating how adaptive and inclusive climbing can be that more people will be inspired to try out the sport for themselves and get involved in the ever growing community.
