UWE's Occupational Therapy Society are pleased to announce a talk by a very special guest speaker, Dr. Jennifer Creek.
Occupational therapy at the cutting edge of health care.
This talk charts the development of occupational therapy in the UK over the past 50 years, identifying social, political and economic pressures that have shaped the profession. It considers how occupational therapy is placed to respond to emerging health care needs in the twenty-first century, and what action is required to ensure that the profession remains socially relevant. The talk is illustrated with real-life examples of occupational therapy practice at the cutting edge of health care, with such groups as displaced persons, refugees, and homeless people. It finishes with some reflections on the future of our profession. There will be time for questions and discussion at the end.
This is likely to be a very popular talk, so book your place early to avoid disappointment: https://www.thestudentsunion.co.uk/soc/occupationaltherapy/
