The Mental Health Campaign at UWE is a free student led group passionate about all things Mental Health, our aim is to raise awareness of Mental Health and to challenge the stigma and discrimination that may be faced by students and staff across the institution.
As a campaign we welcome people with a lived experience of Mental Health Issues and hope that people can make friends with peers through our meetings, events and socials. We hope people can share their experiences, if they feel comfortable doing so to challenege perceptions in the public and student population.
Despite this we are not a counselling service and will not be able to help people who are currently affected and suggest they seek support on campus or off from:
The UWE Wellbeing Service
The UWE Disability Service
Off Campus Support (Wellaware)
The Samaritans
Wellbeing Service Workshops
Long list of services here
In the 2017 / 2018 academic year we are looking to run a series of events including:
Coffee Mornings
Laughing Yoga
Alcohol free, Autism and Anxiety friendly activities and socials not related to Mental Health for people to meet their peers and make friends
Mindfulness Workshops
Fundraising for Mental Health Charities
We are also looking for your ideas, so please do get involved!
