Hello and well done on surviving your first term and exams or assessments!
You might be wondering where the first term has gone. September feels like it was only yesterday, but you’ve done it! You’ve made it to your second term.
For many of us teaching doesn’t begin until the 16 January so make the most of your time off - here are some tips:
1. Forget about exams
Exams are over now! Don’t worry about what you’ve done and what you haven’t. It is time to treat yourself.
2. Say goodbye to the library
You have probably spent more time in the library than in your own room. It’s time to get out of there, at least for now.
3. Get some sleep
We all love to have a nice sleep. Now you can enjoy your sleep guilt-free!
4. Chill out and enjoy a hobby
Watch some Netflix, get some exercise, read a book or get back to any of your hobbies.
5. Dress to impress
During exam time, it’s hard to focus on anything else – you might even end up wearing the same clothes for days at a time. Mix it up and wear something you haven’t worn in a while – it will make you feel better.
6. Get your personal space back
Get rid of all the exam mess and throw out the revision timetable. Make your room feel like yours again by giving it a tidy and making it feel nice.
7. Go outside
Get some fresh air and breathe in the freedom. Go to a local park on your own or with friends.
Now that's out of your system...
8. Apply for placement or work experience
Start applying for placements. You might think it’s too early to apply now. However, it’s always good to do it early and give yourself enough time to think and decide what’s best for you.
Why not invite your friends from other unis?
Invite your friends from back home or other universities to come and visit you and show them around Bristol.
Finally, don’t forget to keep a banana in your pocket even if exams are over, bananas are always good!
