The last month has been really exciting here at the Students' Union. We are getting ready for our new intake of students, and looking forward to welcoming back the returners. We have an amazing mix of events from the Harry Potter Party (I can't wait for this!) to cake and crafts.
The Presidents have also been working on our graduation costs campaign, and have now submitted our report to various members of university management.
I have been preparing for SHAG week (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance) with Serena our VP Sports and Health, which will be happening in February. We have some really exciting plans!
This year we are going to be doing more work on liberation, and are doing some of our own conferences called 'Empower', more information will be released soon.
Alongside this I have been pushing forward with my plans to set up a Nightline (out of hours student support service) here at UWE Bristol and will be writing a research report on this soon. I have also been working on a joint strategy for mental and emotional wellbeing with the university, which will help guide the support and provisions we have.
This week I will also be meeting with Bristol SU Sabbatical Officers, alongside Jamie, VP Education, to work on the Bristol Cut the Rent Campaign, which is a campaign centred on rent prices in Bristol.
Finally, I am visiting Union Southampton to find out more about their Nightline Service and their Halls Reps.
