Jamie Jordon
VP Education, Jamie, updates on some changes after feedback about computers and software given at November's Student Rep Committee.
Representing your academic interests is a key priority for The Students’ Union; with one Student Rep to every 25 students feeding back to help us deliver positive improvements.
In November’s Student Rep Committee (SRC), one of the key areas of feedback was the lack of computers and essential software available. Many students need software such as MatLab to complete their assignments and cannot afford to buy their own – and quite rightly, should not have to.
After working with the Lead Department Reps and relaying this feedback to the University, we have started working on improvements, with more to follow in the future:
Thank you to the Student Reps who raised this at SRC, and to the Lead Department Reps who have been involved in this process. In our next SRC, there will be a session on course costs and resources available to students – we want to make sure we can address more academic issues raised.
The next SRC will take place on January 26 at 17:30, 1L1 (Frenchay Campus).
