The Students' Union building has now been open for two years and in line with good practice and UWE’s programme to develop a high quality campus, we are undertaking a professional evaluation of the new facility. This will encompass the perspectives of i) the people using the building, ii) running the building and its services, iii) the Project Team who delivered it, and iv) the building’s technical performance.
This is a structured evaluation and we have commissioned ZZA Responsive User Environments (specialists in research on buildings in use) to undertake this for us. The outputs will be used to support the building's ongoing use, as well as informing the development of other projects in our capital programme.
The perspective on people using the building will be in two parts - a series of one-to-one interviews with people using different spaces in the building (the activity centre, bar, coffee bar, engagement areas, and office areas) and later, an online survey. The interviews will commence on Monday 27th November.
All input is voluntary and will not be attributable unless interviewees choose. If you are asked to participate, please give your perspective. The researchers will follow a structured agenda to learn about your experience of the building: what works well for you, and what might work better.
We will communicate again when the online survey is available for completion.
Thank you in advance for your support, which I’m sure will be of great benefit and if you have any questions in this regard, please contact Adam Jones adam14.jones@uwe.ac.uk in the Estates/ Facilities team.
Kind regards
Chris Abbott
