In accordance with Clause 36 of the Articles of Association and Bye-Law 4 (10.1) of The Students’ Union at UWE Constitution, a referendum on a vote of no confidence in The Students’ Union President was held following the receipt of a student petition.

A referendum is defined by Clause 13 of the Articles of Association and Bye-Law 4 (10.2) as an all student vote in which at least 1,000 students take part.

Only 658 students have voted in this referendum, therefore this referendum has failed to reach its threshold and as such the motion of no confidence has also failed.

Zain Choudhry remains President of The Students’ Union at UWE and will resume his duties and responsibilities on Monday 12 February following the completion of his earlier suspension.
