The Varsity 2018/19 series kicks off on 31 October with a new Halloween addition, the Bristol Zombie Run! A short 2K route along the Royal Fort Gardens in Bristol, it's a great way to get into the festive spirit and get active as we welcome in the new season of Varsity.
The main event will kick off in March 2019 with Varsity Week from 22 - 31 March. Varsity week will see a range of events and fixtures, from the highly anticipated Friday Night Lights event to a 5k, Badminton, Netball, the biggest sporting day in the South West, Varsity Day, and much more!
Of course, the series will see the return of the famous Varsity Boat Race to close the series at the beginning of June, but before that we are introducing some new and exciting events into the series, with a Triathlon, a Cycling event and a partnership with the Great Bristol 10K.
If competing in one of these exciting events doesn’t float your boat, don’t worry, you can still get involved in all the action by volunteering this year.
With over 4,000 people taking part in the Varsity series, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved, and you don’t have to don a pair of trainers to do it!
You can volunteer as a steward, fundraiser or even develop your event management skills and become an event lead with each universities’ Leadership Programme. In the last five years, Varsity has raised over £50,000 for local charities and the two students’ unions involved and helped promote both universities across the City of Bristol.
