Sian Hampson
Welfare awards on the 17th of April, find out more...
A great night was had by all at the very first welfare awards with over 40 people attending the event hosted by Sian Hampson (VP Community and Welfare). The evening celebrated the amazing work and tireless dedication of our students and staff to improve the welfare of those at the university through innovate campaigns and events. There were a huge amount of nominations and we would like to thank each and every person who was nominated for their great work this year!
Jo Midgley, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) had this to say about the awards.
"I was delighted to be part of the very special celebration that was the first SU at UWE Welfare Awards. UWE has committed to a whole institution approach to mental health and wellbeing, a key commitment which we could not have made without working in close partnership with our SU team. The awards were a really wonderful event in that they recognised our amazing students and staff who go out of their way to put student welfare and wellbeing at the very heart of all that we do. I look forward to this becoming part of the annual awards calendar at UWE as we continue to work together to support our staff and students enabling them to thrive and succeed."
