We had a wonderful Christmas Fair last year at Bower Ashton Bar, which helped raise £144 towards the Marmalade Trust, a charity which combats loneliness within our society.
The fair was organised by The Students’ Union office at Bower Ashton, Amy Tanner, your Campus Co-ordinator, and Joe Marshall Evans, your City Campus Officer. Natalie Wheeler, a representative of the Marmalade Trust, was with us at the Christmas Fair, where she received a very generous donation from animation student Duncan Gilbertson, of a hundred handmade Christmas cards for the clients of the Marmalade Trust.
Large numbers of students got involved in having stalls with a huge range of items being sold, from artwork and clothes to food stalls. We were also lucky to see a superb early preview performance from UWE Drama Society of their pantomime of “Jack and the Beanstalk”. One of the biggest contributing factors towards how much we raised was the raffle which was supported by The Students’ Union Vice-Presidents. It was a great way to round off the year before all of us went back home for Christmas.
