City Campus Newsletter

Joe Marshall Evans, Your City Campus Officer

Hi, I'm Joe, your City Campus Officer.

Last year, I was elected to represent City Campus students to The Students’ Union and the University.

This newsletter is to let you know what we've been working on for you at The Students' Union.

Here's What We've Been Up To

Last year we ran a competition for a mural outside The Students’ Union Bar. Ettie Webb, now a third year illustration student won and she finished it for Freshers’ week – Thanks Ettie!

World Mental Health Day

We had a great time celebrating World Mental Health Day! We gave out free lunch to 200 students and asked you how you look after your mental health – we had 120 responses, which we have made into a display that you can see in The Students’ Union Bar.

Open Mic

After the success of our Open Mic Night during Freshers’ Week and in October, we have partnered with the Centre For Music to bring monthly Open Mic Nights to Bower Ashton – join us for the next one on Thursday 14 November.

Here's What We're Working On:

Buses - Have Your Say

This week I met with our VP Education Jane, to discuss what the next steps are in campaigning for better bus services. The first step is getting as much student & staff feedback as we can. Please fill out the following survey - it only takes a few minutes and will help shape our campaign to the university and First Bus.

The Students’ Union always raises awareness and money for Movember and this year is no different. Join us on Thursday 7 November, where we will be discussing male mental and physical health. We’ll be giving out tea and doughnuts, talking about how The Students’ Union can support you and raising money for a great cause!

Christmas Fair

On Thursday 5 December we will be hosting our amazing Christmas Fair, which will be full of stalls selling art and gifts, to help you get into the Christmas spirit! Students can book stalls to sell their artwork – follow the link below to book yourself a stall.
