We are extremely proud of the vibrant and multicultural community at our university, and in this country, and there is no place for these violent acts.

The Students’ Union at UWE stands firmly against violence, and we are committed to ensuring that UWE remains a safe and inclusive environment for all. We understand that these events may have caused distress amongst the UWE Bristol community, and we want to ensure that you are supported through this period. We hope that we have seen the end of this unrest in Bristol, but the occasion of further riots or disorder, we urge our students and staff to stay safe.
For those of you who have been directly or indirectly affected by the riots, please know that we are here for you. We encourage anyone in need of support to reach out to our Advice Centre or any of the university’s wellbeing services.
We endeavour to make our campus a safe space for all, however if you are the victim of harassment, or have witnessed something that has made you uncomfortable, please use the Speak Up service to report it anonymously.
