Updated statement: The Students’ Union Coronavirus guidance

The Students’ Union at UWE is aware that there are growing concerns surrounding COVID-19. We want the student community to be assured that we are monitoring this closely and are working with UWE Bristol to ensure that we are reacting to this ever-changing situation.

UWE Bristol has suspended face to face teaching and has moved online, we are currently working with them to see what impact this will have over the coming weeks.

The Students’ Union at UWE has made the decision to reduce the scale of its operation, and on Monday 23 March closed Union 1 Frenchay Campus. All staff will now be working remotely, continuing to support students via email. The Advice Centre has now also moved online and are contactable via email.

As of Tuesday 24 March, only The Students’ Union U Block Shop will be open Monday-Friday between 08:00-16:00, and will continue to provide a service to those on campus. This means that F Block Shop, Frenchay Union 1 and 2, Glenside and Bower Ashton Students’ Union outlets will all be closed for the foreseeable future. Upcoming events are also cancelled until further notice.

We understand that this may be a stressful time and that you may have questions, please click here to view UWE Bristol’s guidance for students, which includes an FAQ section. For information on all other wellbeing services available to you click here.

We are continuing to follow the advice of the Government and Public Health England as this situation progresses.
