Welcome to the Learning Disabilities Nursing Society at UWE!

The society was started in 2018 by likeminded students who are keen to promote awareness about learning disabilities with other students who attend UWE and keep in contact with those who have qualified. We are all passionate about people with learning disabilities and the inequalities they experienced. As student learning disability nurses, we are keen to promote our profession which is decreasing in numbers throughout the country.

Our aim is to:

·        Provide fund raising events to support local organisations for people who have a learning disability

·        Arrange social events for networking

·        Provide engaging awareness sessions for our members (and guest members) on a range of topics associated with learning disabilities

·        Work alongside and in partnership with other societies to raise awareness about learning disabilities and the role of a learning disability nurse

If you are keen to learn more about learning disabilities and acquire new skills, please join us - we are open to all those who have an interest!
