Mental Health Nursing Society

Welcome to the UWE Mental Health Nursing Society!

As a new society formed in September 2016 we are dedicated to expanding awareness of - and participation in – matters relating to mental health, wellbeing, and Mental Health Nursing as a discipline. We aim to enhance the learning of our members in an enjoyable, accessible way, by arranging guest speakers, holding academic workshops, and chairing debates on issues related to our field. We hope to support our members to take pride in their profession, to stay up to date with cutting-edge research, and to develop strong social support links throughout their program of study. 

We'd love to create more of a 'community feel' in the cohort so sign up and get involved!

June - Come along to the UWE's open day on Saturday the 9th of June and look out for our stall. We are fundraising by selling homemade cakes, cookies, flapjacks and more! Not only will you be filling your bellies with cakey goodness, the money you give to us to pay for your baked goodies will be going to the Alzheimers society.

September 19th - Come along to Glenside Freshers Fair at the SU on Wednesday 19th September and meet some of the committee. We will be able to sign up new members on the day, talk to new students, give advice on the course and generally say hi and welcome to UWE!

September 21st - Friday 21st we will be at Frenchay Freshers fair. As above we will be there to welcome you, give advice or just have a chat as well as some other information that may be usefull for new students. 

September 21st - Its the MHN Scoieties social event of the year! 

UWE Mental Health Nursing Society is hosting 2k18’s social sesh for nursing students/any students!??

Are you new to UNI? Want a proper Fresher’s experience? Want to make some friends, some enemies, and meet potential course mates???????

Drop into V-Shed (Spoons @ Bristol Harbourside) around 7pm on Friday 21st September for great drinks deals & the bar crawl of your life?? All uni students welcome!!

Membership Fees

As a member, you will benefit from discounted (and sometimes free!) entry to our events. Membership can be purchased here by following the link on the right side of the page. Student membership is £5 and staff or alumni membership is £10.
