British Universities Karting Championship 24 Hour Endurance Race:

To mark the end of the season and of exams the BUKC holds its annual 24 hour kart race. If you would like to have a go at super-endurance racing, this 24 Hour Le Man style kart race will give you an experience of a lifetime, and the chance to test your physical and mental endurance in a kart.

This race is held at the end of every academic year as part of the BUKC. Here you will be racing in twin-engine Biz EKL GX200 Pro Karts, that achieve an average speed of over 68mph over the course of a lap of the 1.3 mile International Teesside Autodrome circuit.

You will be placed in teams ranging from 4 - 8, and then given different 'shifts' or 'stints' during the race eg. 14:00 - 15:30, 18:00 - 19:00, 2:00 - 3:45, 6:00 - 7:30 etc.

It is in the same format as the official Le Mans, starting with the traditional run to the karts, and then non-stop racing for 24 hours!

It is definitely an experience unlike any karting championship. For more details, see the BUKC 24hr website.
