UWE Sailing offers a diverse range of opportunities from social and leisure sailing to team sailing participating in fleet and match racing.

Year on year our membership base has grown, encouraging larger numbers of members to enter into the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Fleet and Team Racing Championships, where we compete against a diverse number of universities from across the country.

Our team also regularly compete in university hosted racing events, involving travel to other universities across the country. During these races members have the chance to compete in a sport they love and explore a new location home to the hosting university.

Our club sails every week on Wednesday afternoons and on most weekends at South Cerney Sailing Club. This year’s committee are hoping to gain access to RYA courses to ensure that any level of experience will be welcomed to the club right down from beginners to those competing at international level.

We host regular socials taking place mainly on Wednesday evenings at a variety of locations within Bristol City Centre, and our social secs are keen for any suggestions you may have!

Our aim is to improve our club so that we can invite all levels of sailing to join and improve both their skills and confidence on the water. It’s a great club to join no matter your standard we welcome all and with our new committee this year we are open to all ideas!

This year we are running subsidised RYA sailing courses, powerboats courses and offer an opportunity to gain a health and safety qualification (all subject to number of members interested).

We will be hosting FREE give it a go sessions the dates of which as follow:
