VOLLEYBALL ENGLAND COVID-19 GOVERNMENT APPROVED AND RETURN TO PLAY GUIDELINES

Welcome to the University of the West of England Bristol Volleyball Club. We are a diverse, friendly, growing sports club consisting of four teams and a development squad!

We currently have four BUCS teams that compete nationally against other universities on a higher competitive level as well as a social team where we welcome all abilities who come together to play for fun. We also participate in the Bristol and District Volleyball League (BADVL) during weekends, where we get to play against other local teams in Bristol as well as the National Volleyball League (NVL) and play at a higher level of competitive volleyball against other club teams. Whether you're a highly skilled player who's got a competitive edge, or you're simply just starting out, we have a place for everyone!

We were awarded Best Sports Club in 2019 and nominated again in 2020 and 2021so if you are thinking about joining a club but aren't sure which one, why not join one of the best ones?

There is no need to be athletic or even want to play competitively as we have members that are purely social and simply enjoy the company of the Volleyball Family.

TASTER SESSIONS AND TRYOUTS ARE NOW OPEN FOR SIGNUPS (top of the page)

SIGN UP NOW TO OUR MAILING LIST:

We will use the information to organise taster sessions and tryouts (respecting number limitations and covid safe guidelines), as well as update you on any coming club activity.

COVID SAFETY MEASURES:

As a club, we have invested in sports sanitizing equipment, which we will use before and after every session (disinfecting people's hands as well as all the equipment used). People participating in training sessions will also be part of the NHS Track and Trace scheme and be strongly encouraged to follow some individual measures (such as bringing your own bottle, thoroughly washing your hands before and after training, keeping a safe distance to other members at all times, avoiding direct contact with other members, wearing a face mask when not playing...). Coaches and organising members will also be required to wear a face mask. We are also considering the purchase of temperature checking devices.

We will have Covid Officers and team captains ensuring that these measures are kept.

Overall, we will make sure all the government safety guidelines are respected, and will also implement our own. If any club member does not respect these rules, then we will have to implement a 14-day self-isolation period from club activities, to ensure the safety of other members.

If you are still not sure about joining our club, we definitely believe our socials will. We think of ourselves as a big family, who love to go out and do all sorts of things. We are proud of all the events we have done as a club in the past, and even more excited about everything that is to come. From clubbing, BBQ's, initiations, house parties, friendly volleyball games, to organising meals, celebrating Christmas, Halloween, birthdays, and our annual tournaments in Amsterdam, or even if it's just a night at the SU after training, everyone is welcome to come along! We have recently partnered with the Birkett Tap, a pub that offers us a variety of opportunities and deals exclusive to our club members: whether you drink or not, you are sure to enjoy our wings nights...
