With the cost of living and accommodation crisis biting hard on every level, I’m looking to introduce a joint-forum system which will include the collaboration of the University, the Landlord association of the Bristol community and the government.
Building self-confidence, self-awareness and mental health protection of students. Improving the existing platform of mental health protection and promoting to students who require these services.
Introducing a work-integrated learning hub where students of the university can partner with companies to give students real-life experiences in their respective fields. This will give them an opportunity to have relevant experience in their CVs and also increase their chances of employment after graduation.
Multi-cultural celebration through a Diversity Day of cultures represented at UWE Bristol. Especially multicultural foods where people from diverse cultures can find some of the local meals on campus.
Employability promotion, ensuring students make the most of services, GradLink, the Careers Teams, HR team and the Students’ Union JobShop.
I am a strong believer in the humility to see the world as it is, and I have the audacity to imagine the world as it could be. I will use my tenure to increase the visibility of the LGBT community, students of intersecting backgrounds, and students with special needs, by providing a more personalised and tailored experience to support their individual experiences and outcomes. I will create a well-inclusive environment by making sure they are well-represented and included in decision making.
