In September 2020, The Students’ Union ran a survey to find out more about your thoughts, priorities, and concerns surrounding sustainability. Over 500 of you completed this- thank you! The results have helped shape our activity for this year and The Students’ Union sustainability strategy.
In last year’s NUS Sustainability Skills survey, 91% of participating UWE students agreed that ‘sustainable development is something which all universities should actively incorporate and promote’. A further 81%, felt that ‘using resources efficiently to limit the impact on the environment and other people’ was an important skill to future employers. This shows how important sustainability is to students at UWE Bristol.

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, the student-led Sustainability Committee would like to share books we’ve found powerful to read. These books cater to a wide-ranging audience, from non-fiction to fiction, easy reads to interesting reads, and empowering to heart-breaking reads. These suggestions were made by the Sustainability Committee.
