Sports first aid and physio information

Each team is assigned a first aid bag at the start of the season. It is the responsibility of the Captain of each team to ensure that:

• First aid bags are to be collected prior to any fixture and taken with you to any games (home or away),
• Looking after and returning your team’s first aid bag as soon as possible after the fixture,
• Notifying the SU opportunities team of any equipment that needs replenishing. This can be done on the replenishment form : First Aid Bag Replenishment Form – Fill in form

Failure to do so or loss of your first aid bag will result in said team to be charged with the cost of replacing the first aid bag.  

Your first aid bag is an essential requirement to compete in BUCS fixtures, as well as at least 1 qualified first aider per team. REG 9.3.1.  

Regularly failing to adhere to our first aid bag process may result in your team no longer being eligible to compete in BUCS.

The Glenside clinic offers a range of services to assess and rehabilitate injuries , and is managed by a team of BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation students and experienced practitioners. Examples of support they can offer to treat are :

• Muscle strains
• Joint/ligament injuries
• Fractures
• Overuse injuries
• Contusions and bruises
• Concussion
• Neck and back pain
• Hip, knee or ankle pain
• Repetitive stress injury
• Trauma-related injury

The clinic is accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT), the UK regulator and professional association for sport rehabilitators.
