UWE Cricket Club offers BUCS cricket for men and women, social teams, quality coaching, and a buzzing social calendar. All abilities welcome—get involved on and off the pitch!
Welcome to UWE Cricket Club! We are a mixed-gender society open to players of all skill levels, offering both competitive BUCS fixtures and social cricket throughout the academic year.
Our men’s section offers cricket for every level of commitment and ability, from high-caliber university competition to casual, social fixtures. Whether you’re looking to push for top-tier BUCS cricket or just want to play friendly matches with a great group of lads, there’s a spot for you.
Outdoor Squads (Summer): We field three outdoor teams during the summer term:
BUCS 1st & 2nd XI: Competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport league, offering high-level, competitive fixtures against other universities.Friendly XI: A dedicated developmental and social team focused on friendly fixtures, giving newer or recreational players guaranteed match time without the pressure of league points.
Indoor Squad (Winter): Our men’s indoor 6-a-side team competes in the BUCS indoor league throughout the winter months, keeping skills sharp in a fast-paced environment.
Coaching & Training: Weekly men’s training takes place every Tuesday (18:30–20:30), led by our head coach, Coach Kevin, alongside our Friday mixed sessions (14:00–16:00).
Leadership & Support: Headed by Club President Will Sheaves and Vice President Jay Plank, the men's squad maintains a strong balance between competitive drive and team camaraderie.
Whether you’re an experienced cricketer or picking up a bat for the very first time, UWE Women’s Cricket is all about getting involved, building confidence, and having fun. We are a fast-growing, inclusive squad that balances competitive BUCS fixtures with a genuinely supportive team atmosphere.
Coaching & Training: We hold dedicated weekly training sessions every Sunday (11:30–13:30), led by our head coach, Coach Kevin, alongside our Friday mixed sessions (14:00–16:00).
Leadership & Support: Headed by Women's Vice President Holly Iggulden and Women's Coordinator Gracie Clark, the women's section maintains a welcoming, inclusive environment focused on development, confidence, and fun.
Throughout the academic year, we run a full and varied social calendar designed to suit everyone, including sober socials which can range from golf days and competitive padel matches to brunch. Our evening calendar features regular Wednesday night socials from pub trips to pub crawls as well as themed dress-up nights all across Bristol's best venues. We love a night out, but we operate a zero pressure enviroment, whether you're drinking alcohol or sticking to soft drinks, everyone is part of the UWE Cricket Family.
