Welcome to us! UWE WFC is an ever-growing club of amazing people who want nothing more than to play and have fun (and maybe make a few friends along the way).
We have two teams who compete in BUCS, as well as a new futsal squad, so whatever your ability there's a place for you!
Our main goal is to continually improve and grow as both a club and as individual players in a fun, friendly atmosphere. So whether you’re a seasoned player looking for a new challenge or you’ve never kicked a ball before, or if you're just looking for an engaging way to keep fit and active, then UWE WFC is the club for you!
1st Team - Western Tier 1 - Our serious side with big ambition and rapid skills, who have just scored a promotion up to Tier 1!!
2nd Team - Western Tier 3 - For those who are hoping to make it to the 1st team, or who just want to play (without the pressure!) with a carefree group of girls
We also have the newly formed Futsal team who will be competing in the BUCS futsal league this year!!
But don't feel like you have to join a team! So, if you'd rather just join us at training on Monday (and our Wednesday socials), and build your skills then we'd love to have you! Who knows how many friends you'll make?!
The 2022/23 season was the clubs most successful ever!! With the 1st team getting promoted to Tier 1 after being undefeated in the league we had high hopes for the annual UWE Sports Awards! As a club we came away with several awards: Best Team Spirit, Most Improved Team of the Year and the BIGGEST award of the night BEST SPORTS TEAM AT UWE BRISTOL!!
We train on Mondays from 7 - 8:30pm and again at 6pm on a Thursday night (for the 1st team) both at Hillside Gardens just a short walk from Frenchay Campus.
Our BUCS matches are always a fun time and they happen most Wednesdays alternating between our home fortress at Lockleaze Sports Centre, and other universities in the South West, running from September to March.
The Futsal squad will be training at the Centre for Sport on UWE Frenchay Campus with training times TBC.
The Futsal team will play their BUCS games on a Saturday at the Centre of Sport or other universities in the South West region!
You will be informed about fees upon sign up!
For new members the fee will include BUCS membership and full kit.
A social/development membership option is also available for those who want to be part of the club but do not wish to play in matches.
BUCS Wednesdays- the BEST day of the week!! Most weeks we all meet up to celebrate a successful (or not so) day on the pitch. Whether it's a quick drink after a game, or a themed night planned by our Social Sec, our weekly socials are a great way to meet new people with the opportunity to go out and party with the rest of the UWE sports teams! We have an amazing club in Bristol who deliver Sharkies, UWE's official sports night!
Varsity is a season highlight for many university teams, and ours never fails to disappoint! U WOT? UWE!!
Each UWE club has the opportunity to go on tour! Organised by the club committee and the Student Union, UWE WFC are proud to have offered some amazing locations in the past, and look forward to be able to provide even more exciting opportunities next year!
Our many accomplishments speak for themselves. In the past few years, we've earned both League Champions and Cup Champions; received nominations for a number of awards at the end of year UWESU Sports Awards and won including; Sports Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Captain of the Year, Sports Personality, Newcomer of the Year... the list goes on!
The unique bond you will form over the years as a team is unmatched, each experience and achievement can be shared with all of your best friends, making memories for life. There will never be a dull moment, providing the opportunity to grow not only as a club but also as an individual!
One of the best decisions we made as students was to join the UWE Women's Football Team. Fun, fitness, and lifelong friendships, you will certainly not regret it. Why not come along and try out a training session, what's the worst that could happen...
As a club we welcome everyone! Whether you're looking for a team to compete with, looking to improve your skills, or just looking to have fun and make friends, UWE Football Women are the ones for you!
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us!
