Welcome to us! UWE WFC is an ever-growing club of amazing people who want nothing more than to play and have fun (and maybe make a few friends along the way).
We have two teams who compete in BUCS, as well as a new futsal squad, so whatever your ability there's a place for you!
Our main goal is to continually improve and grow as both a club and as individual players in a fun, friendly atmosphere. So whether you’re a seasoned player looking for a new challenge or you’ve never kicked a ball before, or if you're just looking for an engaging way to keep fit and active, then UWE WFC is the club for you!
Varsity is a season highlight for many university teams, and ours never fails to disappoint! We have two teams competing in Varsity this year and it promises to be an eventful day. Keep an eye out on our social media for any updates.

1st Team - Western Tier 2 - Our serious side with big ambitions! Competitive and hardworking.
2nd Team - Western Tier 3 - For those who are hoping to make it to the 1st team. The 2nd Team are also a competitive and ambitious team who are working hard to score a promotion this season!
Both our competitive teams take part in Conference Cup through BUCS as well!
But don't feel like you have to join a team! So, if you'd rather just come along for a kickabout and to develop your skills then why not join our Social/Development Squad (and our Wednesday socials), we'd love to have you! Who knows how many friends you'll make? Plus there is always the chance of moving up into the competitive squads at any point during the season!
We train on Mondays and Thursdays at Hillside Gardens just a short walk from Frenchay Campus.
Our BUCS matches are always spirited and they happen most Wednesdays alternating between our home fortress at Lockleaze Sports Centre, and other universities in the South West and Wales, running from September to March.

BUCS Wednesdays- the BEST day of the week!! Most weeks we all meet up to celebrate a successful (or not so) day on the pitch. Whether it's a quick drink after a game, or a themed night planned by our Social Sec, our weekly socials are a great way to meet new people with the opportunity to go out and party with the rest of the UWE sports teams! We have an amazing club in Bristol who deliver Sharkies, UWE's official sports night!
This year the Sports Ball and Awards are on May 23rd! Make sure to keep an eye on the SU website for tickets.
The 2022/23 season was the clubs most successful ever!! With the 1st team getting promoted to Tier 1 after being undefeated in the league we had high hopes for the annual UWE Sports Awards! As a club we came away with several awards: Best Team Spirit, Most Improved Team of the Year and the BIGGEST award of the night BEST SPORTS TEAM AT UWE BRISTOL!!
Each UWE club has the opportunity to go on tour! Organised by the club committee and the Student Union, UWE WFC are proud to have offered some amazing locations in the past, and look forward to be able to provide even more exciting opportunities next year!
Our many accomplishments speak for themselves. In the past few years, we've earned both League Champions and Cup Champions; received nominations for a number of awards at the end of year UWESU Sports Awards and won including; Sports Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Captain of the Year, Sports Personality, Newcomer of the Year... the list goes on!
The unique bond you will form over the years as a team is unmatched, each experience and achievement can be shared with all of your best friends, making memories for life. There will never be a dull moment, providing the opportunity to grow not only as a club but also as an individual!
One of the best decisions we made as students was to join the UWE Women's Football Team. Fun, fitness, and lifelong friendships, you will certainly not regret it. Why not come along and try out a training session, everyone is welcome!
As a club we welcome everyone! Whether you're looking for a team to compete with, looking to improve your skills, or just looking to have fun and make friends, UWE Football Women are the ones for you!
