We are a warm, friendly group of rugby players, within our club we have our BUCS 1st Team and our Developement 2nd Team. Our BUCS 1st play in the BUCS Western 1s and our 2nd play in the inner warrior series. Going into the new season we have exciting development opportunities at every level to ensure every player is pushed to be their best within a supportive environement! Whether you've been playing rugby for years or have never picked up a ball before - we have opportunities for everyone and welcome you with open arms!

Rugby is a great way to throw yourself into the university experience, you will make new friends and meet new people, be involved with great socials and fundraising events and have the best time outside of studying hard! We aren't just a team, we are a family....you are guaranteed to make friends for life!

Give It a Go Sessions: Freshers 2025:

Give it a go sessions are a great opportunity for you to try out rugby and get a taster of what our club is about without commiting to a membership! If you're completely new to the sport, deciding what club to join or even for exisiting players to get stuck in after summer, give it a go sessions are fun for everyone!

If you enjoyed the give it a go sessions and want to return to the club, please purchase one of our memberships. Any problems or questions please contact us!

Monday	6pm - 8pm	UWE Hillside Gardens	- We provide lifts to and from Frenchay Campus, meeting at the taxi rank next to the bus stop at 5:45pm (please contact our Instagram if you require a lift)   - 20 minute walk to Hillside from Frenchay Campus ______________________________________________________
Wednesday	Match Day	Away or Lockleaze     Sports Centre	- For away days we meet at the Student Union on Frenchay Campus to get the coach to the location   - You will be told the Monday evening before a Wednesday game day if you're in the squad   - For home days we provide lifts to and from Frenchay Campus, meeting at the taxi rank next to the bus stop (meet up time will depend on the time of kick off)   - 20 minute walk to Lockleaze from Frenchay Campus ______________________________________________________
Friday	5pm - 6:30pm	UWE Hillside Gardens	- We provide lifts to and from Frenchay Campus, meeting at the taxi rank next to the bus stop at 4:45pm (please contact our Instagram if you require a lift)   - 20 minutes walk to Hillside from Frenchay Campus

If you are a new member to the club and you want to play games, you must purchase a membership with kit!

Development Team with Kit	£60	This membership is perfect for our new players who are gaining confidence within their rugby ability, or have never played rugby before and want to start! With this membership you will recieve playing kit for development games that are organised by the club!	- Playing socks and shorts     - Team UWE training top     - Travel to and from away days    - Training and socials    - Organised friendly games     - Inner warrior league games ___________________________
Development Team without Kit	£30	Membership is perfect for our returning players who are still gaining confidence within their rugby ability. Social Membership	£20	Perfect if you want to be part of our friendly club but do not want to play games. You will still be able to train and join all our social events!	- Training and socials    - Team UWE training top

 

-BUCS 1st Team-

Our BUCS 1st Team will be competing in BUCS Western 1s for the new season 24-25!

We're super exciting to show off everything we have learnt in previous seasons to land on top and win the league!

This team is perfect for you if you have previous rugby experiance and are looking to be in a competitive team taking part in matches most Wednesdays! No trials are necessary just turn up to training and show us your rugby skills, commitment and enthusiasm towards our rugby club!

 

-Development 2nd Team-

Our Development 2nd Team will be competing in the Inner Warrior Series and any development games organised by the club against univeristy teams across the community!

We're so looking forward to working with the development team, ensuring they get stronger and more confident within their ability as an individual and as part of a team!

This team is perfect for you if you're new to the sport or are returning from a break, the development team aims to create a supportive environment where players feel encouraged to become the best player they can be, all from the rugby family at UWE consisting of members, coaches, alumni and support staff!

 

-Fundraising, Weekly Socials and Bournemouth 7's-

One thing we can pride ourselves on, if not for our rugby skills, is our ability to throw a great social! From lifeguards and swimmers to reindeers and elfs, we love the crazier the better!! Our Rugby Socials occur every Wednesday night and usually require fancy dress. We also do joint socials with other sports clubs, which is a great way to meet new people!! We also attend the yearly UWE Sports Ball where all the sports clubs come together and celebrate each others successes, truly a night not be missed!

We regularly take part in fundraising events alongside organising our own events, fundraising and raising awareness for important causes holds a special place in the heart of UWE Women's Rugby. We have been awarded Fundraising club of the Year three years in a row, now we're looking towards our fourth year!!

    

At the end of the rugby season, we pack up our fancy dress and suncream to head down to Bournemouth for an incredible weekend of music, camping, playing a bit of rugby sevens and having a good boogie! It's an incredible weekend that you don't want to miss out on!
