Welcome to UWE Futsal! It's a fresh new club with high goals and a passion for this underdog sport. Join us to play this high-intensity, fast-paced, and dynamic 5-a-side version of football.
Welcome to the UWE Futsal Club! Now in our second season, we're a fast-growing, dynamic sports club built on a simple principle: merit. We believe in creating clear pathways for every player to develop, compete, and rise through the ranks based on their performance. Whether you're an experienced player or new to the sport, we have a place for you.
Our main club membership is for players ready to commit to a full fixture list and be part of our competitive team structure. This is your chance to represent UWE and prove yourself in our internal league. All members must pay the additional £23 insurance fee.
Placement in our 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Teams: You'll be placed in a team that matches your current skill level, with a structured training and match schedule:
1st Team: Train Tuesdays and Thursdays (16:30-18:30), compete in a local league and represent UWE in BUCS fixtures on Sundays.
2nd & 3rd Teams: Compete in the Wednesday Varsity League against the University of Bristol, with additional matches on Fridays (16:00-17:00) and Sundays (13:30-15:30).
The UWE Club Trophy: All main club members are drafted into one of four "House Teams" that compete in our internal 18-match league. We track all results, publish tables and player stats weekly, and use this system to identify the top performers.
A Clear Merit-Based Pathway: This is the core of our club. Playing well in the Club Trophy and for your team is your direct route to the top. The best 5-10 players will be invited to join our BUCS squad (for a £50 add-on), and standout performers can drastically move up the ranks.
Access to All Socials: Join us for our weekly Club Socials every Wednesday and become part of the team off the court.
New to futsal or want to ease into the club? Our Development Team (4th Team) is the perfect starting point. It’s designed to give you a taste of competitive play and a direct route into the main squad.
Your membership includes:
12 Development Matches: Play in a series of matches at the UWE Centre for Sport, with 10 sessions on Fridays and 2 sessions on Sundays.
Prove Your Potential: We actively scout these matches. Show us your skill, and you'll be invited to join the main club squad for a £50 add-on fee.
Massive Growth Opportunity: This is where you can make your mark. Exceptional performance in the Development Team can lead to you drastically moving up to higher teams within the club.
Full Social Access: Get immediate access to all our Club Socials on Wednesdays and integrate into the Futsal community from day one.
