Starting a sports club is a great way to bring your passion to others while gaining valuable skills. Here is how to do it, and things you will need to consider before submitting your application:
1. Check for Uniqueness
Your proposed club must not duplicate an existing one! If it's similar, you may need to collaborate with the existing sports club or define clear boundaries.
2. Complete the Online Application
You will need to submit your application using the form below.
Your applicaiton will need to include a club profile, which must describe your activity and set a membership fee that covers all of the associated costs for the academic year (minimum of £20).
Your application will need to least a minimum of 4 committee members, including President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Equipment & Safety Officer. You can also add Participation & Equality Officer, Events & Fundraising Officer, Media & Publicity Officer and Sustainability Officer if you want to!
Your application will need to include a list of full names and Student ID numbers of a minimum of 25 interested students.
3. Ratification by Sports Executive
The Sports Executive will discuss your application and decide whether to ratify the new sports club or not. This meeting happens monthly.
You may be invited to the Sports Excecutive meeting to present your application, or answer any questions the Executive may have.
4. Post Ratification Requirements
Once your application has been ratified at the Sports Executive your committee will need to complete the following:
