Our student body is diverse, dynamic, and full of talent. As an international student, I am a candidate for Vice President of Societies and Communications, committed to fostering an environment where every voice is heard, culture is respected, and individual value is valued. I am committed to sharing plans and representation with students. 

• I believe that any officer who is elected must be accountable to the students who put them in office. If elected, I will host student drop-in sessions, meet with clubs and societies, and establish regular society forums for ideas and collaboration. This will create a friendly atmosphere, encourage participation from overseas students, and reflect Union and President views.  

• I'll also have plans to promote overseas student assistance, provide advice on social, cultural, and academic challenges, and organize workshops and seminars to enhance professional skills. My focus is mainly on the mature students as they're not given much priority.  

• As someone who comes from different cultural backgrounds and who has been involved in societies and the SU I’ll also promote diversity in communities involve them encouraging collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds, boosting representation, and ensuring international student populations are included in decision-making processes. 

• I’ll be prioritizing accountability and transparency in decision-making processes, ensuring student input, ensuring easy accessibility of information, and promoting student participation in society management. 

• I’m committed to a Student's Union email newsletter and fostering vibrant societies through efficient communication techniques, using various platforms like social media and in-person meetings. 

• Most importantly, however, I believe that our students know what they want and what they need from the Students’ Union. That’s why I’m committing to improving the regularity of correspondence between the SU President and the student body, and why I’ll be pledging to respond to any email, call or query no matter how small. Students deserve to have direct access to their representatives. 

In conclusion, I am committed to advancing the interests of societies and fostering effective communication channels to promote collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity within our community.
