Candidate for the position of Democratic Procedures Officer

Ethan Protheroe

Students' voices Matter.

I have been a member of many societies during my years at UWE (Airsoft, Archery, Rock climbing, History, and Tabletop, to name a few). I have been lucky to work as the President and VP of the Airsoft Society for the past two years, which has given me a well-rounded idea of how the SU works inside and out. I am also a student rep on the student council for societies and special interests Which has allowed me to see how the role of the Democratic Procedures Officer is a vital role for the SU.

This has allowed me to talk to the current SU presidents about their jobs, which has given me additional experience and context, and helped me to shape my own ideas about how to improve the UWE experience for everyone.

If elected this year, I would like to push more people to get involved in societies, as it is one of the best ways to make friends at UWE and get involved in the UWE community. I would like to make more people involved in how the Su works in both the way societies run but also the democratic processes that the Su follows. I will always be willing to lend an ear to any society who wants help and information about the SU and How we can improve the democratic process in which the SU runs.

I hope you choose to vote for me as your Democratic Procedures Officer. Let's go into the next academic year with even more societies and more people actively getting involved!
