Candidate for the position of Vice President Sports and Health
Hi! I’m Megan and I am running for the position of VP Sports and Health. I am currently in my final year of my English Literature degree, as well as the ladies water polo captain here at UWE. I have been part of the club and committee for Swimming and Water Polo throughout my degree, holding the position of social sec, so expect promising things for Wednesday socials!
V - Voice: The student voice is something of great importance to me, if elected to this position I will do my best to ensure that the student voice is continued to be heard and it’s needs met!
O - Opportunity: University is great time for everybody to try something new. We have a diverse range of sports available to everyone. I want to make sports more available for those who aren't necessarily competitive and are just wanting to have a break from work or try something new.
T - Team: Although we are all from different clubs, we are one big team and I would like to bring a sense of community within the sports teams at UWE.
E - Efficiency: I can't promise the impossible, but I can promise to work efficiently to make your sporting experience at UWE one you remember fondly.
F - Friendly: I like to think of myself as friendly and approachable, so I will always try to make myself available and to be as helpful as possible for any sports related struggles you may experience.
O - OUT OUT: Sports night is great opportunity to get everybody integrated. I want to organise themed nights at a club that accommodates all teams. As well as set up a little healthy competition between you all, rewarding clubs that put in extra effort for fancy dress and the likes!
R - Recognition: Many clubs don’t get the recognition they deserve, I would like to increase coverage of all teams and give everybody an opportunity to show off their talents and success.
M - Media: We have excellent facilities here at UWE and I would like to utilise them to their full potential, whether it’s sports coverage or publicising events or news, as well as give students who specialise in these the potential to show off their work.
E - Energy: I want to bring a positive energy to the union
