Hi I’m Kachi and I am going to be your VP of societies and communication 2026/27!!! πŸŒŸπŸŒŸ

I am excited to be running for this position because the reason I joined this university was because of the range of societies it had to offer, from anime to LGBT and everything in between, it had something to offer to everyone. So, I am glad to now can give back to this aspect of the university because of how much it has shaped my university experience.

During my time at UWE, I have been a member of several societies, and I am proud to say that:

  • I started my own society, Afrodance, and (you may have seen us perform at fresher's fair or come for one of our weekly workshops) over the past 3 years and blossomed a diverse and loving community.
  • Was elected at the events officer for k-pop and was the first to organize regular socials for the society and organized the society's first annual showcase.

Having been part of a society committee for 3 years now I am very confident in my knowledge of what societies need, and that is A LOT MORE CARE AND RECOGNITION. Societies are for connecting with people that have similar interests as you and most of the time this is what allows students to blossom their creative desires and de-stress from university chaos. And I believe I am the candidate who understands the importance of these spaces existing and what they need to thrive so that they can continue to give students that space to express themselves.

My Goals β‹†ο½‘°βœ©

  • Merge the gap between sports club and societies by planning events to merge those communities.
  • Attend as many society events as possible to bridge the gap between the SU and societies.
  • Extend an invitation to new societies/committee to have a meeting with me on what they can do specifically for their society to help them grow and manage their workload.
  • Plan more cross-society events throughout the year to give students the chance to showcase their creative pieces to the university.
  • Plan more diverse events that exclusively celebrate and educate on different cultures one at a time to give each culture their moment to shine.
  • Host the society conference meetings in more creative ways to make them more engaging.

I love the environment that has been created at UWE and I believe I can elevate the university experience even further! πŸ’—
