Hey, I’m Aniq and I’m running to be your VP of Societies & Communication.

Uni life isn’t just about grades. It’s about the people you meet, those chats, the events that make you feel at home, and, of course, the food.

Clubs and societies are where the real connections happen. Friendships start, cultures mix, and uni becomes more than just ticking boxes. I know we can do even more. Why not make things bigger, bolder, and way more fun?

Here’s what I’ve got in mind.

More food, more fun, always.

I love bringing people together with food and good vibes. I want to help societies make more of these moments happen: food festivals where everyone shares their favourite dishes, cooking events where you can get stuck in, and international nights to celebrate our backgrounds and try something new.

Food brings us together. When we eat, we talk, we share, and we feel like we belong. That’s the vibe I want on campus.

Here are a few ideas I think you’ll like.

• A campus-wide Water Festival: imagine a sunny day at the end of the year with water balloon fights, slip-and-slide races, splash challenges, music, and food stalls from different societies. Simple, joyful, unforgettable.
• The Great UWE Treasure Hunt: teams from different societies solving clues and taking on challenges all over campus, with each checkpoint run by a different club. It’s part adventure, part game, and a great way to discover new societies.
• Inter-society collabs that actually work: sports clubs and academic societies in friendly competitions, cultural clubs teaming up for joint festivals, creative societies running workshops together. Mixing things up is where the real magic happens.

At the end of the day, it’s about belonging.

Whether you join a sports team, a cultural society, a hobby group, or just show up to an event, I want you to feel like you’re part of something. UWE should feel like your place too.

That’s what drives me. That’s why I’m here.
