Your Voice Your Community Vote Hassan
Vice President of Community and Societies
Introduction
Hello UWE students,
My name is Hassan and I am running to be your next Vice President of Community and Societies.
Societies play a crucial role in student life. They help students make friends, build confidence, and feel part of the university community. My goal is to make societies more accessible, supportive, and enjoyable for all students across UWE.
If elected, I will work to support societies, encourage student participation, and ensure every student feels welcome in our community.
My Priorities
1. Better Support for Societies
I want to make it easier for societies and their committees to thrive.
I will:
- Work with the Students’ Union to improve guidance and support for society committees
- Help new societies get started more easily
- Ensure societies across Frenchay, Glenside, and Bower Ashton feel supported
- Encourage societies to share ideas and collaborate
2. Increasing Student Participation
Many students want to join societies but don’t always know where to start.
I will:
- Promote societies clearly during welcome events and throughout the year
- Encourage societies to run inclusive events
- Support collaboration between different societies
- Help students discover societies that match their interests
3. Listening to Student Voices
Student feedback is vital to improving societies and the overall student experience.
I will:
- Create regular opportunities for society leaders and members to share feedback
- Work closely with the Students’ Union to address challenges societies face
- Ensure student suggestions are heard and considered
4. More Promotion for Societies
Many societies do great work but students are not always aware of their events.
I will:
- Work with the Students’ Union to promote society events more actively on social media
- Encourage societies to share their events in one central place so students can easily find them
- Help societies reach more students across all campuses
Why Vote for Me?
I am passionate about building a student community where everyone feels welcome and involved.
If elected, I will focus on supporting societies, encouraging participation, and listening to student voices to enhance the student experience.
Together, we can create a stronger, more connected UWE community.
