Introduction

Hello UWE students,
My name is Habib, and I am currently studying LLM. I am running to be your next Vice President of Community & Welfare because I believe every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and part of a welcoming university community.

I also bring previous leadership experience, having served as VP Sports and Health. In that role, I worked to promote student wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, and activities that helped students connect with one another. This experience helped me understand the challenges students face and how the Students’ Union can support them better.

If elected, I will work to strengthen student welfare, build an inclusive community, and ensure every student feels heard and supported during their time at university.

My Priorities

1. Student Wellbeing and Mental Health

Student wellbeing must be a priority. I will work with the university and Students’ Union to promote wellbeing initiatives and make sure students know where to access support services when they need help.

2. Safe and Inclusive Community

Every student should feel safe and respected on campus. I will support initiatives that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion so that all students feel valued regardless of their background or identity.

3. Stronger Student Voice

Students should have a clear voice in decisions that affect them. I will actively listen to student concerns and represent them in meetings with the university to ensure their views are heard.

4. Community Engagement

A strong community improves the student experience. I will encourage social, cultural, and educational activities that help students connect, build friendships, and feel part of the university.

5. Practical Support and Skills Development

I will promote workshops and initiatives that help students manage stress, develop life skills, and build confidence for their future careers.
