Real Change for Your Academic Experience.”
I am running to be your Vice President Education because I believe every student deserves a fair, supportive, and high-quality academic experience. University is not just about earning a degree; it is about developing skills, gaining knowledge, and feeling confident that your voice matters in shaping your education. My goal is to make sure students are heard, supported, and represented in every academic decision.
One of my main priorities is improving communication between students and the university. Many students feel their concerns about teaching quality, course structure, or assessments are not always addressed quickly or effectively. I want to strengthen the connection between students, course representatives, and university staff so that feedback leads to real action. Your experiences and opinions should directly influence improvements in teaching and learning.
Another key focus is fair and transparent assessments. Clear marking criteria and timely feedback are essential for students to improve and succeed. I will work to ensure that students receive useful and constructive feedback within reasonable timeframes, and that expectations for assignments and exams are clearly communicated. I will also advocate for better coordination of deadlines to reduce unnecessary stress caused by assessment overload.
I also want to expand academic support for all students. Every student learns differently, and everyone should have access to the resources they need to succeed. I will support the development of more study-skills workshops, academic writing support, and peer-mentoring opportunities. These resources can help students build confidence in their studies and reach their full potential.
Finally, I am committed to ensuring that every student’s voice is represented. Whether you are an undergraduate, postgraduate, international student, or studying part-time, your academic experience matters. I will actively listen to your concerns and work to represent them in university discussions and decisions.
If elected as your VP Education, I will work hard to advocate for students, improve the learning experience, and help create an academic environment where every student can succeed.
Together, we can build a stronger and more supportive education for everyone.
