Candidate for the position of Women's Welfare Officer

Freja- Mae Sturesson

Wellbeing is not optional- its essential

Hi, I’m Freja.

I’m a first-year Law student with a strong interest in specialising in family law and women’s rights. My academic path reflects more than just a career ambition — it reflects my commitment to advocating for women and ensuring their rights, voices, and wellbeing are protected.

I believe representation matters. Every woman, regardless of her background, culture, or personal circumstances, deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. My goal is to make sure no woman feels overlooked or unsupported within our community.

University life can be especially challenging for those balancing studies alongside caregiving responsibilities or other personal commitments. I want to be a strong advocate for these women — ensuring flexibility, understanding, and real support are available.

I am also passionate about strengthening academic confidence. Too often, women doubt their abilities or feel pressured to prove themselves. I want to help create an environment where women feel empowered to speak up, take up space, and excel without hesitation.

For me, welfare is about advocacy, empowerment, and lasting impact — not just temporary solutions.

I am committed to building a space where women are supported not only in moments of difficulty, but in their growth, ambition, and success.
