Your Voice. Your Power. Your Union!

From Cork’s 96FM radio station! The power of listening and speaking up for others continues to guide my work.

I’m Mo, a final-year Psychology student, performer, and Social Entrepreneur community organiser who believes every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and proud to be at UWE.

At UWE, I work as an Enterprise Coach with Student Ventures, supporting students to develop ideas, businesses, and creative projects. I’m also the founder of Mose Social Rising CIC, a community organisation empowering marginalised voices through creativity and community. Through this work, I founded Solidarity in Sound, Bristol’s first Global Majority and LGBTQ+ Choir, and Living for the Streetz, a community radio show that amplified local LGBTQ+ voices and stories. A member of the Bristol LGBTQ+ Coalition and one of Bristol's youngest community chairs for the community organisations

Whether mentoring students, organising events, or building community projects, my goal is simple: to create opportunities, representation, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

As Students’ Union President, I will work to ensure every student at UWE can thrive.

1. Safer Campuses

  • I will make sure students know about Report + Support and the external organisations UWE works with, so no one has to face harassment, hate crime, or sexual violence alone.

  • I will push the university to improve reporting processes, response times, and accountability when incidents happen.

2. Real Cost-of-Living Support

  • I will make sure students actually know about and can access hardship funds and financial support available at UWE.

  • I will also push for more local student discounts.

3. Fair and Accessible Learning

  • I will campaign for lecture recordings across courses with clearer extension and mitigation policies.

  • I will work with the university to improve inclusive teaching, so every student can succeed.

4. Better Career Opportunities

  • I will expand career workshops, mentoring, and networking events with employers and alumni.

  • This will help students graduate with real connections, skills, and confidence for their future.

5. Respect for Your Identity

  • I will push the university to fix the name and pronoun systems across university platforms so students are recognised correctly.

  • I will also strengthen support for trans, non-binary, international, and marginalised students so everyone feels respected and safe at UWE.

Every student deserves to feel safe, supported, respected, and ready for their future.
We can build a university where everyone belongs, because “We are not liberated until we are all liberated”.
