Empowering Students, Empowering Education.
Hello UWE Legends 👋
My name is Rahil Bhagat, and I’m currently studying MSc Human Resource Management at UWE Bristol.
Like many students, I understand the reality of university life — balancing lectures, assignments, deadlines, and part-time work, while sometimes wondering how several assignments suddenly end up due in the same week. 😅
That’s why I’m running for Vice President Education.
I want to work with students and the university to create an academic environment that is supportive, engaging, and career-focused, where students feel heard and have the tools they need to succeed.
If something in the education system needs fixing, Rahil is there. If students need a stronger voice, Rahil is there. If the UK weather suddenly decides to rain again… well, even Thor might struggle with that. ⚡🌧️
🎓 My Plan for Students
☘️ Balanced Assessment Deadlines
Students often face multiple assignments due in the same week. I will work with the university to encourage better coordination between modules so deadlines are more balanced and manageable.
☘️ Timely Results & Better Feedback
Students rely on feedback to improve their work. I will advocate for clearer marking timelines, useful feedback, and transparent communication if delays occur.
☘️ Better Timetabling
Long gaps between lectures or inconvenient timings can make studying less productive. I will promote more student-friendly timetables.
☘️ Lecture Recordings & Study Accessibility
Students sometimes miss lectures due to illness, work, or personal circumstances. I will encourage more lecture recordings and accessible study materials.
☘️ Academic Support for International Students
International students may face challenges such as academic writing, referencing, and adapting to a new education system. I will promote workshops, guidance sessions, and peer mentoring.
☘️ Stronger Student Representation
Students deserve a real voice in decisions affecting their education. I will organise regular forums and feedback sessions so student concerns lead to meaningful change.
🤝 Being Your Voice
Sometimes students feel uncomfortable approaching lecturers or support services about academic challenges. As VP Education, I want to help bridge that gap and ensure students feel supported and represented.
🎯 My Goal
Education should empower students to succeed both academically and professionally.
Together, let’s build a learning experience that inspires every student — powered by collaboration, good ideas, and maybe a little bit of caffeine. ☕
