Hello UWE students,

vision

My vision as Vice President of Sports & Health is to build a community that is active, inclusive, and health-conscious—where everyone has the opportunity to participate in sports, improve their wellbeing, and develop a lifelong commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

Core objectives 

1. Promote Active Participation

  • Encourage more people to participate in sports regardless of skill level.
  • Organize regular tournaments, leagues, and recreational activities.
  • Introduce beginner-friendly sessions for students who want to try new sports

 

 

 

2. Improve Physical and Mental Wellbeing

  • Promote the connection between physical activity and mental health.
  • Organize fitness workshops, wellness seminars, and stress-relief activities.

3. Develop Inclusive Sports Programs

  • Ensure sports opportunities are accessible to everyone, including beginners and underrepresented groups.
  • Support women’s sports, adaptive sports, and mixed-gender activities.
  • Create a welcoming environment where participation matters more than competition.

4. Upgrade Facilities and Resources

  • Advocate for better sports facilities, equipment, and training spaces.
  • Ensure existing facilities are well maintained and easily accessible.
  • Work with management to secure funding for new equipment and programs

5. Support Student Athletes

  • Provide support systems for athletes balancing sports and academics.
  • Celebrate achievements and recognize sporting excellence.
  • Promote leadership and teamwork through sports.

Comitment

If elected as Vice President of Sports & Health, I will work to ensure that sports and wellbeing are at the heart of our community. My goal is to create opportunities for everyone to stay active, feel supported, and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
