I am Athan, an aromantic, asexual and non-binary Civil Engineering student, I’ve been studying at UWE for the last two years, and I will be an advocate for all queer students at UWE. I have been treasurer of the LGBTQ+ society, so I know the struggles our community experiences here, and have represented them to the SU as an NFI societies representative, which has also given me a knowledge of SU procedure which will allow me to be as effective as possible in my role.

 As your LGBT Officer, I will:

• Represent the voices of all queer students at UWE, across all campuses;
• Ensure that the Students Union and the University represents the voices of and respects the rights of queer students;
• Provide support for student groups to become more accessible to and inclusive of queer students.
