Hi, I am Ahmar

My goal is to ensure to the best of my ability that every student at UWE feels heard, supported, and feels a true sense of belonging and representation.

Having already been the DPO last year, I have gained a very valuable insight and aim to only increase in attaining that experience. I intend on continuing to support the voice of students- We build the Student's Union. Through this role I intend to Chair the student council fairly and allow students to feel expressed and represented.

Representation begins with listening. I will try to expand student council meetings in being more flexible, open, and being able to represent a more accurate population of students at UWE. Whether you are an undergraduate, postgraduate, commuter, or international student, your voice deserves to be heard. I will ensure feedback leads to action, not just discussion.

University life should be about more than lectures. I will work  to strengthen opportunities for involvement and create a more connected campus community; being able to propose your student-led ideas and encouraging freedom of speech.

I intend to be a visible, approachable and action-driven- truly enjoining good and forbidding evil- with both integrity and purpose; to the best of my ability.
