Your Voice, Your Campus, Our Glenside💚

Your Voice, Your Campus, Our Glenside💚

Hi, I’m Amelia, a final-year Occupational Therapy student, and I’m standing for Glenside Campus Officer because I want to ensure that the voices and experiences of Glenside students are heard and represented.

As a healthcare student myself, I understand that university life at Glenside can look very different from the traditional student experience. Between lectures, assignments, long placement hours, travelling, part-time work and other responsibilities, finding time to get involved or even raise concerns can sometimes be difficult. I want to help bridge that gap.

 Making Your Voice Heard

I want students to have simple and accessible ways to share their concerns, ideas and feedback, even when they cannot attend meetings or events. I would actively listen to students across different healthcare courses and bring their views to the Students’ Union and relevant university departments.

Showcasing Glenside & Building Community

Glenside has so much to offer, and I would love to help showcase that. As both Glenside Campus Officer and a Student Ambassador, I would use my experience to promote our campus, celebrate our students and highlight what makes the Glenside community special.

I also want to create more opportunities for students across different courses and cohorts to connect. Whether you live on campus, commute or spend long periods away on placement, I want Glenside to feel like a community you belong to.

Supporting Student Wellbeing

Healthcare courses can be demanding, particularly when balancing placement, academic work and personal responsibilities. I want to listen to the challenges students are experiencing, raise these concerns and help students become more aware of the support and opportunities available to them.

Connecting Glenside and the Students’ Union

I want Glenside students to feel connected to the wider Students’ Union and know who they can approach when they have an issue or an idea. I would work to strengthen communication between students, the SU and university teams.

Through my experience as a Student Ambassador and in student representation, I have developed experience listening to students, representing different perspectives and helping people feel included.

If elected, I want to be an approachable and visible Glenside Campus Officer who listens, communicates and celebrates our campus, making sure students feel heard, connected and proud to be part of Glenside.
