Candidate for the position of Sustainability Officer
Greener Together
We all share this university, this city and this planet. Aware as we are of the wider environmental, social and economic issues, it’s often hard to see how we can help as individuals, but what we can do is work together to make our habitat within U.W.E a better place for ourselves and others.
As sustainability officer my aim would be to encourage the Students Union with the progress it has made with its Sustainability Plan, focusing on student impact and interaction. Engaging a wider awareness of the universities ecological efforts, facilities and projects through improved communications within the university is a priority. Also on my agenda is to strengthen intra-university ties with the University of Bristol.
Past involvement with the Green Team includes volunteering at the Community Garden, Project leader for Greenspace, and now part of the Sustainability Committee. Other experiences include natural building and the Permaculture Design Course, which meet my Architecture and Environmental Engineering degree.
With my experience, direction and drive I believe I can fulfill the role, helping our University develop into a more sustainable world.
