the Atrium in Z Block (The Engineering block). Frenchay Campus
Starting Block Event: Repair skills workshops
WHEN:
Two sessions on 20th September 2023
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Join the Repair Revolution and learn about fault finding and fixing electrical and electronic equipment!
Our skilled technicians will guide you through the different steps of finding out why an appliance has stopped working and how to fix it, ultimately saving it from going into landfill and further contributing to the world’s worsening e-waste problem.
Up to ten participants can get hands on repairing items, whilst more can follow the sessions as audience members. We will be using video equipment to live stream the repair on our screen, so you don’t miss a thing, especially the “fiddly” bits!
If you would like to part in the hands-on repair, please email kat.corbett@uwe.ac.uk!
All tools, safety equipment and items to repair will be provided.
WHERE TO FIND US:
We will be in the corner of the Atrium in Z Block (The Engineering block). Frenchay Campus.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
Email kat.corbett@uwe.ac.uk if you would like to get involved in the repair. You can drop in any time during the session to watch and learn about repairs.
INCLUSIVITY:
We welcome all abilities/ disabilities, ages, ethnicities, and gender. If you have any questions, concerns or additional requirements then please let us know so that we can make your time at this event as comfortable as possible.
